SYRACUSE, NY – October 5, 2006 – Kemper Auto and Home, A Unitrin Company, is pleased to announce the addition of nine positions in its Dewitt location. The national insurance carrier created the local job openings in September after the company made the decision to de-centralize underwriting operations from its Jacksonville, Florida headquarters.

The Dewitt office, Kemper’s largest regional operation, consists of almost 200 employees in claims, assigned risk, marketing and underwriting. The newly-created jobs include two managerial positions and seven underwriting positions. Kemper considers its new regional positions to be vital in maintaining local partnerships with independent agencies, through which Kemper sells personal lines auto and property coverage.
