Kemper Press Release

For Washington

Due to the severe winter storms experienced in certain counties, the Insurance Commissioner for the state of Washington has requested that we suspend non-pay processing. Therefore, as of December 20th we suspended non-pay cancellation processing for policies with risks in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties. Additionally, any non-pay cancellations issued since November 26th have been withdrawn.

While the suspension is in effect we will discontinue scheduling any future Recurring Bill Pay – EFT withdrawals and Recurring Bill Pay – Credit Card charges. During this time we will send paper bills. Any withdrawals and charges that were scheduled to be made prior to the suspension (i.e., withdrawals/charges between approximately 12/20 and 01/10) will continue to be made. Once the suspension is lifted, we will resume normal processing.

We are taking these actions to ensure that our policyholders in these counties have the coverage they need during this difficult time. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and notify you when normal billing processes will be resumed.
